May is the first month of 2018 to play host to an enormous range of classic motoring and transport events across the country and beyond. From The Mini London To Brighton Run, to The Monaco Grand Prix Historic, this month is sure to offer something for any classic motoring enthusiast or owner. 4-6 May 2018 Donington Historic Festival
With a spectacular selection of world-class grids, Donington Historic Festival 2018 will welcome several hundred classic racing cars spanning nine decades at the world-famous Donington Park track between 4th and 6th May. For a full timetable, please click here. Tickets from as little as £10 each.
4 May 2018 T.S.S.C. Triumph Weekend Isle of Wight
Celebrating the historic Triumph on the beautiful Isle of Wight on May 4th. This family-friendly event promises beautiful views, refreshments, entertainment and a chance for likeminded Triumph owners and enthusiasts to come together in a breath-taking setting.
5-7 May 2018 Caledonian MGCC Three Day Scenic Tour
This year’s May three day scenic tour will take place around the Borders in the beautiful region of Dumfries and Galloway. This event is now full so please add your name to the Waiting List in case there is a cancellation. For more information on the route and participating cars, click here. Spectators are of course welcome, and the beautiful scenery makes for a beautiful picnic backdrop!
5 May 2018 Brooklands Auto Italia Day
The Brooklands Auto Italia Day is one of the biggest events of the year at Brooklands, celebrating the all things Italian. This year the event will be celebrating its 33rd year, and will welcome an abundance of beautiful Italian cars and motorcycles, as well as Italian food, themes and music. Highlights on the day will include a live demonstration of a rare 1955 Maserati A6G Zagato, a Lancia Stratos Group 4 Rally car and an Intermeccanica Indra, built by Construzione Automobili Intermeccanica. Tickets £16 for an adult.
5-6 May 2018 Shelsley Walsh Speed Into Spring
Taking place at the historic Shelsley Walsh, this fantastic family-focused classic motoring event promises fast cars, new faces and never been seen before cars. Trade representatives will also be present to answer questions. Click here for the full line-up. Tickets from £8 when booked in advance.
6 May 2018 Bowood Spring Classic Car & Bike show Wiltshire
A first for Bowood House, May 6th will be the first of two new classic vehicle shows. The event takes place over the Bank Holiday weekend on Sunday 6 May and offers a spectacular day of motoring heritage ideal for enthusiasts, day trippers and families. As well as beautiful grounds and refreshments, there will be a full vehicle concours overseen by leading commentator and vehicle expert Les Clayton. Advance purchase tickets from as little as £4.50.
6-7 May 2018 Stratford Festival of Motoring
On 6-7 May, the historic town centre streets of Stratford-upon-Avon will be shut to normal traffic, permitting motoring enthusiasts to showcase over 300 cars per day! There will also be engaging summer activities for the family, making this a fun day out for everyone. Entries for cars are now closed but spectators are welcome on the day.
7 May 2018 Swansea Classic Car Show
The Swansea Classic Car Show has now been running for more than 30 years and is due to take place at Singleton Park, Swansea West Glamorgan, SA2 8PY, Monday 7th May. The day promises all-round family fun featuring more than 500 cars, an autojumble and trade stands. Children’s entertainment, fair and full range of catering will also be offered. .
11-13 May 2018 Monaco Grand Prix historic
Running since 1997, the Monaco Grand Prix Historic is a not-to-be-missed, spectacular event for all motoring enthusiasts across the globe. Set in the heart of Monaco, the programme this year features F1 Grand Prix cars from 1966 to 1972 inclusive, a parade for pre-war Grand Prix cars, a prize giving Gala Dinner and much much more. 13 May 2018 Bromyard Speed Festival On Tour
This year, the annual Bromyard Speed Festival will be going on tour and taking place at the historic Shelsley Walsh. You can expect up to 140 spectacular classic cars and motorcycles, many of which will be displayed in paddocks for the public to enjoy up close. Refreshments and entertainment, as well as trade stands and club representatives will also be in attendance. For more information click here.
20 May 2018 South Wales Classic Car Show
Taking place at the Cardiff City Football Stadium, this year’s classic car show promises a huge range of classic vehicles spanning the decades, as well as visits from motoring experts across the country, trade stands and club representatives. For more information click here.
20 May 2018 Mini London to Brighton Run
The annual London to Brighton Mini Run is organised by the London & Surrey Mini Owners Club and remains one of the biggest events along Madeira Drive with parked Minis stretching all the way from the Sealife Centre to Blackrock. The event is open to all types of Mini, as well as a Show and Shine competition, which has 8 different classes, differentiated by criteria such as age of vehicle and degree of modification. In addition, the Mini Run is an enormous market selling everything and anything you could want for your Mini. Basically, if you’re a Mini owner or a Mini enthusiast, this is a not-to-be-missed event.
26-27 May 2018 Land Rover Spring Show Scotland
The Scottish Land Rover Show returns to The Royal Highland Showground, Ingilston, Edinburgh on the new date of May 26th & 27th 2018. Major manufacturers, retailers and hundreds of autojumblers will be bringing the very best Land Rovers, parts and accessories to your doorstep. Hundreds of Land Rovers and Club Displays, Jam Packed main arena action, fun and games and evening entertainment will ensure there’s something for all the family. Advance tickets from £12.
